OREGON SOCCER PROGRAM INKS FIVE
Experience at the national team level is a common thread among the five student-athletes who signed National Letters of Intent with the Oregon soccer program, head coach Graeme Abel announced Thursday.
Joining the team for the 2024 season will be two players from Hawaii as well as one each from Oregon, Texas and London.
Springfield, Ore., native and Marist High School product Cloe Chase will stay home to play college soccer. She'll be joined by a pair of Hawaiians – Kailee Chavez (Makakilo) and Carly Cormack (Honolulu) – Ariane Haysman Boaler (England) and Taylor Person (Frisco, Texas).
"We are so excited welcome this class to our program," said Abel. "When we started the process of identifying what we needed, we wanted to make sure this class had the personality and character to come in and impact us right away. We believe we have found a great blend of athleticism, technical ability and work ethic that helps our roster immediately.
"This past year was about building our group through experience to set our program up for the future – that experience will be shared amongst our signees so they can hit the ground running."
